| UpState Brewtopians! | March 2009 | | | | The march meeting will be held on the 21st of March, starting at around 2:00 at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Clippinger. This promises to be a great meeting on the banks of Lake Lyman. The hosts are providing BBQ chicken and hash brown casserole. They have requested perhaps a side of potato salad and cole slaw and of course all chips, dips, salsa, sides, and munchies are always welcomed. Since we will be at the lake's edge, if anyone wants to bring a fishing pole to do a bit of angling, they are more than welcome to do so. The address is as follows:

| | | | BOARD OF DIRECTORS VOTING: As of March the 9th, the Board of Directors polls have closed and we have a mandate from the people. The votes have been tallied, and the next Board of Directors will be announced on Saturday, March 21st. Thank you all for your willingness to serve your club, and thank you to all for taking the time to vote. I am excited to see the new Board of Directors in action and am very sure they will serve the UpState Brewtopians well. | | | | BOURBON BARREL MEAD: The Bourbon Barrel Mead has been temporarily put on hold pending the arrival of honey. As soon as we get the honey in hand, Steve-o will begin the process again of setting a date to brew. Stand by to stand by. | | | | Bill H3693: We have a thread on the forum regarding the proposed bill H.3693. It has caused quite the stir and I have been on the phone with the folks at Thomas Creek in regards to this bill. We are standing by for further information from Thomas Creek as to what actions we as UpState Brewtopians should take to help quash this nonsense. Initial readings of the bill could drastically change the way the public interacts with any microbrewery in South Carolina. | | | | GREER CHILI COOK-OFF: If you haven't already, and you can spare some time on March the 19th between the hours of 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the fine folks at Thomas Creek have asked for volunteers to help man their booth which will be on the corner of Trade Street and Victoria, downtown Greer. I would like to see our club become more involved with festivities in conjunction with Thomas Creek and this is but one opportunity. If you can volunteer for a couple hours, or if you can volunteer for the duration of the festival, please email Scott Harke, Marketing Director of Thomas Creek at: sharke@thomascreekbeer.com.I have been told that moderate sampling of beer will be allowed. | | | | Brew More! | | | | BrewBoy-IP | | |
