I was a sports bar the other day (The Zone) in Simpsonville.
They had 3 lists in their beer section.
Draft - Only Bud products on this list.
Bottles - Only various Bud/Miller/Coors.
Import bottles - Corona, Dos XX, Sam Adams, Thomas Creek, RJ Rockers, etc.
Obviously Sam Adams is domestic. But Thomas Creek and RJ Rockers. I mean... come on. these aren't just domestic, but local within a few miles from the restaurant. That is crazy. Instead of having a craft beer section of the menu it is billed as Import so that they can charge the Import price.
I swear. We all need to get on these restaurants about this. We should be proud to call these American Craft beer, not Import. Not to mention, they should advertise that these beers are local (in-town) beers.
Thomas Creek should tell these places that they need to list their product in the appropriate place on the menu.
But this seems to be a problems at many local places. I see this all the time. Sam Adams listed as Import. And Thomas Creek as Import.
Why can't these be in the Domestic section. apparently that is reserved for Bud/Miller/Coors.
Even Yeungling is listed as import. Really? Import. The bottle says, "Oldest Brewery in the USA."
I hate Anheiser busch. I truly hate them. Their beers suck and they are slowly killing our choices.
Thanks for listening. _________________ Haven't brewed anything lately but I taught a new homebrewer the basics a few weeks back and brewed an IPA.
They just need to change the category to "imports /craft beers". But they are either too stoooopid or just don't care. _________________ "People who drink light 'beer' don't like the taste of beer; they just like to pee alot."

I was in total wine off woodruff on saturday when I noticed that a beer, Leinenkugel, that I had been, until recently, enjoying as a low cost "craft" that is actually owned by millercoors was placed in the "micro-brewed" section. What made me more frustrated is that they have another section called "craft".
here is a link if you want to look at any of the others
