Greetings Upstate Brewtopians:   The August meeting took place on August 28 at FrostySnake’s condo pool.  Many thanks go to Frosty for hosting us and providing both pool and food.  Grilling hot dogs and hamburgers was the perfect idea for a warm August afternoon.    August was the Single Hop Challenge.  There were eight beers in the challenge, and not all were hop bombs.  Nevertheless, BobbyC’s Amarillo IPA won the balloting, and he went home with the Coveted Beer Mug Pendant.   There were 11 beers for the non-Challenge portion of the program.  The full beer list is below.   With 19 entries for the day, it was quite a prodigious beer list for an August meeting.  The September meeting will be on September 25.  Directions will be issued during the week before the meeting.  However, instructions for the September meeting will be coming soon.  The theme for September is pairing beer with food.  Check the website and your email for more information.   Nominations for the annual Upstate Brewtopian of the Year Award will be open at the September meeting.  In the meantime, if you have a nomination, please contact Brewboy.  He will see that your nomination gets to the Selection Committee.    Several Upstate Brewtopians will be attending Brewgrass on September 18.  Look for the base camp with the Upstate Brewtopian sign.
